It's gonna happen!!

Yes, that is correct! We are 90% of the way to being fully funded for the Spy Pond Mural! Thanks to everyone who has sent in checks, given pocket change, and donated through the Arlington Center for the Arts' online donation center. Thanks also to (in no particular order): the Town of Arlington including the Board of Selectmen, Town Economic Development Officer Alan Manoian, Town Manager Adam Chapedelaine, the Friends of Spy Pond Park, Derek Curran of the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, employees of Coldwell Banker, Arlington Banner and Flag, Jan Whitted of Artbeat, Cambridge Savings Bank, all of the artists participating in Chairful Where You Sit, and many many more. Thank you. We are truly moved and truly appreciative for all the support, and very excited to see the project moved to the next phase.

We are now anticipating hanging the banner in late March/early April in order to have a Patriot's Day opening ceremony and press event.

The mural will be printed on vinyl banner material so that it can be replaced eventually with other art work by future Arlington High School young artists. By featuring art created by our youth, we are saying that as a community we support creativity, and we value the thoughts and expressions of our young people. This is a landmark opportunity for Arlington to establish itself as place that nurtures a Creative Economy.
